Summary
- We use only strictly necessary storage: to keep you signed in, remember your light or dark theme, and remember your language.
- Our website analytics are cookieless and do not identify you or follow you across sites.
- We use no advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies.
- If we ever want to use non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a website save small pieces of data on your device. Under the EU ePrivacy rules and the UK PECR, websites must ask for consent before storing or reading such data, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. This policy covers both cookies and local storage; we call them “storage” below.
What we use
All storage below is strictly necessary, set by Divrite itself (first-party), and is not used for advertising. It therefore does not require consent.
| Purpose | Type | What it stores | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Local storage | A session token that keeps you signed in to the Divrite app after you use a sign-in link or Google | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
| Theme | Local storage (theme) | Whether you chose the light or dark theme; shared by the website and the app | Until you clear it |
| Language | Local storage | Your preferred interface language | Until you clear it |
| Security check | Cookie or local storage set during sign-in | Data used by our bot-protection service to confirm that a sign-in request comes from a person | Session, or as set by the provider for that check |
Analytics without cookies
We count page views with Plausible Analytics, which works without cookies or local storage. It does not collect personal data, does not track you across websites or devices, and does not build a profile of you. To count unique visitors, it uses a daily-changing identifier derived from your IP address and browser that cannot be reversed and is discarded after 24 hours; your IP address itself is not stored. We see only aggregate figures, such as page views and referring sites.
Third-party pages
When you subscribe or buy a top-up, you complete payment on a checkout operated by our payment provider (the Merchant of Record). That checkout may use its own cookies, for example to prevent fraud and remember your payment session. Those cookies are controlled by the payment provider and covered by its own cookie and privacy policies. Likewise, if you choose to sign in with Google, Google’s sign-in page is governed by Google’s policies.
Links in research results lead to other websites, which have their own cookie policies.
What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting for marketing
- Sale or sharing of data collected through cookies
Consent and future changes
If we start using any storage that is not strictly necessary, such as analytics cookies or advertising cookies for measuring campaigns, we will ask for your consent before setting it, give you an equally easy way to refuse, and let you change your choice at any time through a “Cookie settings” link on every page. We will also update this policy and its “Last updated” date.
Managing storage in your browser
You can view and delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, and block them for all or some websites. If you clear or block strictly necessary storage, you will be signed out and your theme and language will reset; the Divrite app may not work properly while storage is blocked.
